What is a high school diploma? An official document issued by an educational institution, such as a high school, testifying that the recipient has earned a diploma or has successfully completed a particular course of study. The American Academy High School program consists of particular courses of study. Once, you have successfully completed the program we confer a high school diploma. It is not just a test-for-diploma document. This is the difference between a GED and a high school diploma.
What is a GED? GED is an acronym for "General Equivalency Diploma." It is similar to a high school diploma and it is usually conferred, by a local governmental educational institution for example, a public school. The general method of obtaining a GED is to register and appear to have the test administered at a pre-assigned location. Questions may vary, but they generally consist of high school subject material composed of writing, spelling, mathematics, social studies science, etc. If the test is passed, the public school confers a GED.

Is American Academy High School a real school? Unlike some Online Learning providers, American Academy High School is registered with the state of Florida Department of Education. We are a brick and mortar school. American Academy High School employs faculty (instructors), support staff and administration. But, most importantly American Academy High School is a real school, with traditional classroom settings and regular attending student body for students who are enrolled in our on-campus program. We are not a diploma mill and we do not issue life experience credits.

Can I use this diploma for admission in colleges or universities? Many of our graduates, have enrolled in local and private colleges and universities. We are listed in the state registered index, of nationally accredited schools. We confer a genuine high school diploma, with traditional transcripts. What types programs does American Academy High School offer? American Academy High School offers a unique and innovative accelerated high school diploma. The program is broken up into (2) groups 1 - On-campus enrollees and 2 - Home study enrollees.
How old must a person be to enroll in the program? While we have no set age requirement for enrollment, we usually prefer an applicant student to be above the age of compulsory education (15 years old). If the applicant is under 18 y/o, we require the parent or legal guardian to sign a consent and waiver form. Moreover, our graduates range from 15 - 70 years of age. It is never too late!
Can I enroll if I am a foreign student? Yes, our program is available to students worldwide. You must have a basic understanding of the English language as well as, basic reading and writing skills. American Academy High School is both Nationally and Internationally accredited.
How long does it take to complete the program? Usual completion time is 90 days or less. Some of our graduates have completed the program in as little as a week. This is a self-paced and self-sufficient program. Upon enrollment the program is mailed to you. You may complete the program at your own pace. Once you complete the program and all content has been reviewed for completeness and accuracy, a genuine high school diploma will be conferred. Completion time varies depending on your ability and or capability of submitting your work.
How does the Home Study Program work? The high school diploma program is an accelerated program. It consists of all requirements necessary for graduation, from grades 9 - 12th in just a few short weeks and not YEARS! Once a student enrolls in person, online, or by mail the home study program is sent out through the regular mail service. Included in the package are instructions, textbooks, assignments and tests. You may complete the home study program at your own pace. The sooner you complete each section and submit it back to the school for a passing grade and posting, the sooner you will graduate.
What happens if I submit I don't achieve a passing grade? If an assignment is not passed, you will be notified and a copy is forwarded for you to review. You will then have to resubmit the assignment for a passing grade. The material is simple and self explanatory, achieving a passing grade on all subject matters is within reach.
What happens if I complete all program content and I achieve a passing grade? If the work submitted is passed and the program content is completed in its entirety, you will be conferred a high school diploma, with a set of official transcripts. You will then be a high school graduate.
Can my existing high school credits be transferred to your school? Yes, American Academy High School accepts credit transfers. However, the transcript must be an "original" document in order for us to grant the credit. Once enrolled in our program, only the remaining required subjects will be administered to the student. The major benefit is that qualifying credits are accepted, which reduces the amount of work to complete the program and a reduction in burden of time, for quicker graduation. In addition, there may not be a difference in tuition, however.
Does American Academy High School issue life experience credits? No, unlike many Learning providers, American Academy High School DOES NOT issue life experience credits. This is due to our academic integrity, educational ethics and accreditation standards. Many online Learning providers or correspondence schools, provide you with a fast high school diploma by issuing life experience credits. However, most colleges and universities do not accept life experience credits and thus, reject your transcripts.
How much is the tuition for the home study program? Our regular tuition is $875. This consist of 5 subject matters: reading, writing, social studies, science and mathematics. How do I enroll in the home study program? You may enroll in person, online or by mail. If you chose to enroll online (the quickest method), simply click on the "Enroll Home Study" blue tab in the website's index. Click on the link on page for "Enroll Here" then; 1- add the program to your shopping cart; 2- Click on checkout; 3- Follow the steps to complete the checkout.

What methods of payment are accepted? You may pay for your program, with a major credit card or a bank check card. You may do this on-line by adding the program to your cart and then clicking on the checkout button. Once you have filled out billing and shipping information, you will be directed to Paypal for processing of your credit or check card. If you have never used Paypal before, you will be directed on screen on how to register and pay for your item. You may also pay by sending or bringing a check, money order or cashier's check directly to the school.
How do I receive my program material? The program is generally mailed to you upon enrollment. However, if you are a local resident, you may pickup the program at the school and avoid shipping charges.
Is there a graduation ceremony? Yes, every 3 months or so a graduation ceremony is conducted. Whether you are a local resident or distant student, you are welcomed to participate in your scheduled graduation ceremony. There is a nominal gown and administrative fee. If you are interested in walking in a graduation ceremony, please contact the school's registrar two weeks prior to the scheduled graduation ceremony. |
